This version of Cool Cat comes from the US Hot Space vinyl test pressing from April 5th, 1982 and was pulled by Bowie as he deemed he was “unsatisfied with it”.

The original version is very similar to the final album release. The performance is mostly the same and it features David Bowie doing some backing vocals. Bowie’s vocals actually add a weird “haunting” element to the track.

Written by: John Deacon and Freddie Mercury Produced by: Queen and Mack Musicians: Freddie Mercury – lead and backing vocals, electric piano, synthesizer David Bowie – lead & backing vocals John Deacon – bass & rhythm guitars, synthesizer, drum machine
