There are plenty of ‘Oddities’ to be found whilst tracing the career of David Bowie – but the one that first brought him into the public eye was the ‘Space’ version. Only to discover the whimsical David Bowie currently ensconced in the world of the Laughing Gnome had gone ‘rogue’ with his Lou Reed inspired alter-ego! Here we see David as an unsure bohemian artist heading up the slightly bewildered Riot Squad outfit. It wouldn’t last. His friendship with Lou Reed however…would.

The A to Z of David Bowie – W Part 1

The hero of this Episode started off as a Rat and eventually found himself a Spider! We’re talking about the irrepressible Michael or ‘Mick’ or ‘Woody’ Woodmansey. From almost becoming a Spectacle expert in Driffield Yorkshire – he ended up as a Rock n Roll spectacle as the drummer in the hottest band in the world circa 1973. These days he is Holier than Thou…alongside his old mucker Tony Visconti in the band Holy Holy. We love Woody. If you don’t already you will by the time you’ve finished listening to this!

OK – we are now scarily close to the end of the Alphabet…and with it the end of our definitive Podcast journey through the work, life, times, friends and enemies of David Bowie. In this episode we tackle 2 letters! Damn we’re good. Y = Young Americans, David’s fearless foray into that thorny genre known as ‘Blue Eyed Soul’. Of course it is a complete masterpiece. We also take a quick look at a man who could legitimately have turned up under the letter J (for Joe) or D (for Duncan). As it stands we opted for Z (for Zowie), David’s uber-talented son.
