*GOLDEN YEARS 1958—2018: CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE AT BROMLEY TECHNICAL SCHOOL*

To celebrate 60 years since David Bowie joined Bromley Technical School, there will be a tribute concert held at the school, now called Ravens Wood School, on Monday the 27th of August 2018 (the August bank holiday Monday).

Scroll to the end for a chance to win one of 3 pairs of tickets…

Headlining this special event will be The Thin White Duke, the respected and long-running Bowie tribute act, who played at the Memory of a Free Festival events in 2013 & 2014 which David Bowie donated signed items to. http://www.thinwhiteduke.biz

As support we have ex-Bromley tech student, Adam Crawford, bringing his 12 string guitar and love of Bowie’s music to his former school.

Also appearing will be the acclaimed painter, former Konrad / Manish Boy, visual collaborator and lifelong friend of David Bowie, George Underwood, who will be giving a brief illustrated talk at the school where he and David were classmates.

Additionally, on display at the event will be Bowie art by Sara Captain, whose Bowie murals can be viewed at Zizzi Beckenham (the former home of Bowie’s Arts Lab).  There will also be Bowie-related stalls, plus food and drink vendors.

Doors at 3pm for browsing the stalls and artwork, showtime at 3.30pm, and the finish is scheduled for 6.30pm.

Tickets are £15 and £8 for under 10s (plus booking fee).

In tribute to David Bowie’s father, ‘John’ Haywood Stenton Jones, £1 from every ticket sold will go to the charity he worked for, Barnardo’s.
