Competition – Win a copy of new Ziggy Stardust live in Bradford publication!

November 24th, 2019 | by admin

Ian Lockhart a David Bowie collector of over 40 years has lovingly and meticulously restored from the original negatives a set of superb and rare audience photos from Bradford St. Georges Hall , 1st June 1973.

These photographs you may recognise as they were sold to many fans back in the mid-seventies by Ian Clegg. Ian Lockhart had often thought about getting a new set of these pictures or even better still buying the negatives. He contacted Ian Clegg as he still had his postal address about 20 years ago enquiring if they were for sale. Ian had a letter back from Diane Clegg agreeing to sell Ian the negatives.

The negatives arrived and they had seen better days and looked like they had done far to many trips to the local Boots to be printed. The negatives were cut to pieces and covered in grease and dirt. They were what they were and Ian planned to get them restored one day and forgot about them as they lay in a box for another 20 years!

A couple of months ago he had the negatives cleaned thankfully technology had moved on in 20 years and he had the negatives digitally scanned in ultra-high resolution. He was astonished to see that the negatives had cleaned up very nicely indeed and set about producing a limited edition high quality premium magazine to share these photographic gems with other fans.

Using specialist digital enhancement software and a great deal of patience Ian restored the photographs to their former glory.

He has created a 30 page 8.5″ x 11″ high quality premium magazine and did a test print run which was perfect. These magazines are not cheap to print, but every image works out less than £1 when you think that you get 30 images in 11.54 x 8 inches in very high quality.

Ian will be printing a batch in 2 weeks and is taking pre-orders now. He has kindly provided one to David Bowie News as a competition prize. If you are not lucky enough to win the competition you can still own this unique collection by purchasing one of these limited edition magazines.

The price is £25 plus £5 postage UK/Europe tracked and signed, rest of the world £10. Contact Ian directly at [email protected]
