David Bowie – Fall Dog Bombs the Moon (Trafic Musique, September 2003)

February 5th, 2021 | by Nick

David Bowie | Fall Dog Bombs the Moon | Trafic Musique | TV2 | France | 4 September 2003

Personnel:

David Bowie | vocals, guitar
Gerry Leonard | guitar, backing vocals
Earl Slick | guitar
Catherine Russell | guitar
Gail Ann Dorsey | bass guitar
Sterling Campbell | drums

A song that is thought to be about Bowie’s abhorrence of the Bush / Cheney war machine, that was at the time invading Iraq on the pretext of the baseless WMD claims. One thing is for sure, Fall Dog Bombs the Moon is a wonderful bit of rough rock n’ roll with guitars aplenty.

The appearance on the Traffic Musique show on the 4th of September 2003 predated the release of the Reality album by 10 days, and was the very first performance of Bowie’s Reality era, predating the tour by a month.
