August 15th, 2022 | by Nick

David Bowie Acetate – 2 Unreleased 1968 Session tracks.

These tracks were recorded by David Bowie, being used as a session musician. These were done in 1968 after David Bowie’s first album on Deram, failed to sell and make an impression. This was a quiet year for Bowie, Being dropped by Deram and without a record contract, hence he did some work as a session musician. This has been confirmed by a David Bowie expert who is currently working on an unreleased David Bowie project. This also comes with another Acetate of a different artist preforming the same track, as was the case back in the day when publishing companied were trying to sell songs. This Acetate came from one of the UK’s biggest music publishing companies, who published David Bowie throughout his career, and previous Unreleased David Bowie Acetate sold by Wessex Auction, came from the same source.

The tracks are: “By Making Mistakes” and “Perhaps I’d Rather Be You”

The David Bowie Acetate, which will be lot number 5 on the 25th of August auction here
