David Bowie Installation in Jennifer Elster’s Take Heed art exhibition in Tribeca, NYC

March 6th, 2023 | by Nick

Visit multi-medium artist Jennifer Elster’s early work with Bowie that comes to life in this new webbed iteration.  See Bowie as you have never seen him before. The installation has been described as “serrated rage” and “multi-dimensional bliss!”

Elster presents an installation of her work styling Bowie into the character of Ramona A. Stone in a photograph taken by John Scarisbrick for Bowie’s 1995 1. Outside album. Elster expanded on this work two times since, including in 2020 for the 25th anniversary of the shoot’s execution, where she painted on the print. And in 2022 Elster then built Bowie into a cut web of sorts.

Take a deep dive into the mind of one of New York’s most intriguing underground artists.
People have been enthralled by both the exhibition and the David Bowie installation.
With artifacts from the character of Ramona on display including the original Serrated Piece he wore and the Bullet Belt.

The exhibit is open to the public now at The Development Gallery at 75 Leonard St, TriBeCa
until March 19th, Tuesday through Sunday 12-7 pm. Free entry.
