Step into a room of David Bowie relics set in The Garden of Artifacts at The Development Gallery and explore, for the first time, the full collection of  style and design work by Jennifer Elster on Bowie’s incredible concept album 1. Outside.

After decades, she has delved deep into her hoard and found all of her treasured garments Bowie wore in his dystopian narrative-driven project where the central character is Detective Nathan Adler, a solver of “art crime.” Such rare relics include the collared shirt worn by Bowie here as Adler, the dress worn by Bowie as Baby Grace, a blazer he wore as shop owner Algeria Touchshriek, and a custom-cut garment that Jennifer cut on Bowie, paired with a bullet belt and tights for the cult-like character Ramona A. Stone.

Displayed across her family’s old furniture, a dress form, and a simple nail in the wall-the pieces offer a raw and revealing look into one of Bowie’s most experimental periods,

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience it before it disappears back into storage, perhaps forever.
