Notes from ledzepfilm:
This reel surfaced on an auction site in late 2021 and was purchased by our friend June72 from The Dogs of Doom. We finally got around to scanning it once we launched this channel and, thanks to being shot with Kodachrome film, remains some of the best looking footage we’ve ever worked on.
David Bowie played two consecutive shows at The Spectrum in 1978, and parts of these were used on his official “Stage” live album. Fortunately, the sync revealed this footage comes from the first night – the only one with an audience tape – proven by Adrien Belew’s guitar solos and a few drum fills. This appears to be a third 8mm film source for this show. The last song, TVC 15, was not captured on tape and this sync uses a recording of it from May 2nd in Ottawa, Ontario.
